Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to you with a transportation update for this year. You are receiving this message because your student is scheduled to attend a morning Questar program at the Hudson campus this year.

In previous years, Greenville has provided transportation from students' homes to the high school for this program. However, due to a driver shortage, we are unable to offer this service this year.

What will the District provide?
We will provide transportation to and from Greenville High School and Questar Hudson for your student.

What WON’T the District provide?
Morning transportation from your home to Greenville High School will not be provided.

What will this require from families?
Families of students who are enrolled in the Morning Questar program at Hudson will be responsible for providing transportation to Greenville High School by 7:15 am.

Why is this happening?
We have faced a bus driver shortage for several years. Our Transportation Department has worked to reduce routes and maintain services with fewer drivers. Providing a morning bus to campus would require additional drivers, which we do not have at this time.

What is the District doing about this?
We are actively hiring bus drivers. If you know someone interested in this position, the District will cover the cost of their CDL training and provide paid training at an hourly rate. Interested applicants can apply online.

We understand this change may create additional challenges for families. Please know we are working diligently to ensure reliable transportation for all of our students. If you have questions, please contact Mary Judeikis, Transportation Director, at judeikism@greenvillecsd.org.

Sincerely,
Rachel S. Anderson
Superintendent of Schools
