The American Red Cross has opened a temporary shelter at Greenville High School to assist residents impacted by flooding in Greene County and surrounding communities. The shelter will provide a safe and comfortable place for displaced residents until it is safe for them to return home.

While emergency response personnel will be on campus to assist with disaster relief efforts, there is no active emergency on the Greenville campus.

The Red Cross is encouraging residents who need emergency shelter or disaster assistance to seek support at their nearest Red Cross shelter.

For more than 15 years, Greenville Central School District has maintained a disaster sheltering agreement with the American Red Cross. This longstanding partnership allows our district to help meet the community's needs during times of crisis and ensure that our facilities can serve as a resource when our neighbors need them most.

We are grateful to the Red Cross, emergency responders, and community partners working to support those impacted by the flooding.
