Senior Citizen and Disabled Tax Exemption Rate Sliding Scale

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Greenville Central School District will be holding a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2026 in the MS/HS Library for the purpose of allowing the public to comment on the Senior Citizen and Disabled Tax Exemption Rate Sliding Scale prior to its adoption.

A public hearing is necessary due to the increase in income limits for 2026 approved by Greene County on December 17, 2025. Senior Citizens living in the Greenville Central School District who are 65 years old or over will be eligible for these reductions in school taxes if their income level is $45,399.99 or lower. District residents with a disability whose income is limited by such a disability will be eligible for these reductions in school taxes, if their income level is $45,399.99 or lower. This scale was adopted by Greene County on December 17, 2025. Anyone who is eligible for this exemption must contact their local assessor's office (in the township they live in) prior to the deadline for filing of March 1, 2026.
