We found a time capsule!
Were you a student at Ellis in the year 2000? If so, you might have something in it!
We took pictures of every single item - from milk cartons to pictures, drawings, letters, and more - and organized it all by teacher! Some items are also on display in the main hallway, but EVERYTHING is available online for our community (near and far) to view.
Check out the digital time capsule folder!
Here's an excerpt from the press release, almost 25 years ago:
"On Friday, December 22, 2000, the student body of Scott M. Ellis came together to offer their contributions for a time capsule which will be stored in the elementary school until the year 2025 when it will hopefully be opened by those students attending the school.
The project, created and organized by Mrs. Erin DuBois, elementary school counselor provided students in grades K-5, with the opportunity to present individual or collective contributions for the inclusion in the time capsule. The goal of the project was to offer, in a variety of forms, a glimpse into the life of Scott M. Ellis students as it exists in the year 2000, so that students opening the capsule in 2025 will understand what life was like for their predecessors."
The week before December break, we'll have an assembly where students will once again fill up the time capsule and seal it for another 25 years. Please fill out this form if you'd be interested in coming to this fun event.
