Greenville CSD - where everyone Learns, Teaches, Belongs!  Spartan STRONG!

October 22, 2021

Dear Families,

This week we experienced a dramatic shift in our school life by a (very) limited number of covid positive cases within our community. The good news is that those individuals are recovering at home; but we were challenged by the number of students who were impacted by DOH quarantine rules.

We are continuously learning how to best anticipate the questions we will be asked by health officials, and have made additional adjustments to seating plans and physical space across our school. Our hope is to support families in maintaining student health and to prevent quarantines that impact classroom learning (and family routines).  We appreciate everyone’s help as we work to do all we can for students, families, and staff.

Families can help us follow our mitigation efforts by reminding students how to follow masking guidelines at school. Most students do a great job wearing their masks, but some students require additional support. Students are most successful when masks are:

  • properly sized

  • comfortable on the child

Congratulations to our after-school volleyball tournament champions at grade 4 and 5! More than 45 students participated in the fall intramural program. We enjoyed seeing all the fun our students had as they competed!  Congratulations to Logan and Silas at grade 4, and Ben, Claire, and Ruka at grade 5.

Last Friday our Caring Kids Club hosted the Fall Student Activity Night, our first large student event in nearly two years!  Over 100 students attended, with activities that included: hayrides, nerf battles, bingo, outdoor play, and bowling. Thank you to Mrs. Hawkins and the many people who helped arrange this fantastic event for children.

We wish everyone a restful weekend.
