Senior, Julia Reinhard, and High School English Teacher, Chris Karle were honored by CASDA as "Students and Teachers Who Make a Difference."
JULIA REINHARD
"Julia is one of those rare students who combines an intense work ethic with a gracious and positive demeanor. She approaches tasks with diligence and perseverance, yet engages with peers and adults alike with genuine warmth and good humor. Her commitment to excellence is evident not only in her accomplishments but also in the thoughtful way she supports others. As her counselor I can attest that she exemplifies the values this award seeks to honor. Julia is our class Valedictorian and currently maintains a 98.9 grade point average. She has deliberately pursued a highly rigorous curriculum enrolling in accelerated courses, honors classes, Advanced Placement offerings, International Baccalaureate coursework, and dual-enrollment classes throughout her high school career. Julia is a well-rounded student who eagerly engages in school and community activities and consistently uses her leadership roles to create positive impact. She serves as Vice President of the National Honor Society, President of her class and President of the Prom Committee. Within these roles, she has led planning efforts that require collaboration, budgeting, and the ability to build consensus among diverse student groups. Her service extends through membership in Student Council and Captain’s Club, where she contributes to student governance and school culture. In each role, Julia balances responsibility with a collaborative spirit—working to uplift others while ensuring initiatives run smoothly. Julia Reinhard’s rare combination of academic excellence, sustained leadership, community service, athletic leadership, and practical experience positions her as an exemplary candidate for this Award. Julia plans to attend Binghamton University in the Fall and will be pursuing a degree in Economics with a Pre-Law track."
CHRIS KARLE
"Mr. Karle has made the biggest impact on my educational career. He taught me how to see myself as more than a grade. Growing as a student was made much easier when I wasn’t simply focused on getting the 100 and instead on actually learning and understanding the content. The support he offered throughout my high school experience is unparalleled, always available for a quick chat or just a quiet moment during the long, busy days. I will forever carry our deep philosophical conversations and our shared love of writing poetry with me as I continue life after high school."
Congratulations to Julia and Mr. Karle for this well-deserved recognition!
