MR. REEVE'S MORNING MESSAGE - WEDNESDAY, MAY 20

May 20, 2020

Good morning Greenville Middle School!

I hope your week is off to a good start.  I know some of you may be getting tired of remote learning. Hang in there as we have only a few weeks left. We all need to continue to make the best of it and stay positive.  While you are working during the day and if you start to feel overwhelmed with anything, please stop and think about our Spartan STRONG traits. One of the traits to focus on the next few weeks is Never Giving Up or being persistent.

  • Self-Control

  • Taking Action (asserting yourself appropriately)

  • Responding Respectfully or Responsibly

  • Offering Empathy

  • Never Giving Up (persistence)

  • Growing Together (cooperation)

With the 5-week interim progress reports coming out in the next couple of days, I really hope you all are taking on my challenge to you and that is for you to receive a COMPLETE for all your assignments. In order to meet this challenge, it is important for you to make sure if you have questions to attend your teacher’s Google Meet times or reach out to them with an email.

Enjoy the sunshine and have a great day!

Mr. Reeve

Morning Message:

MAKING A DIFFERENCE - Kindness

Listen up!  We have a story today.

As a young man walked the beach at dawn, he noticed an old man ahead of him picking up starfish and throwing them into the sea.  Finally catching up with the man, the youth asked why he was doing this. The old man responded, “The stranded starfish will die if left until the morning sun.”

Then the young man said, “But the beach goes on for miles, and there are millions of starfish. How can you make a difference?”

The old man looked at the starfish in his hand and then threw it to safety in the waves.

“It makes a difference to this one,” he said.

Today, remember this:  You can make a big difference in the world, one act of kindness at a time.

With something to think about, this is Mr. Reeve reminding you to Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be The Best You Can Be. The choice is yours. Have a great day!
