The Greenville Central School District values professional development and encourages and provides offerings that are aligned with District goals, research based, and address student and faculty needs.
Professional Development Planning includes information and data from different assessments of student and faculty needs, Building Level Teams (BLTs) and Quality Education Committee (QEC) research and data based initiatives resulting in a menu of professional faculty courses, Questar III staff development workshops, GCRTC (Greater Capital Region Teacher Center) “Core Connection” courses, and other private and public agency offerings. Data acquired through the Effective Schools Survey, focus groups, needs assessments, and other instruments are integral components to identifying professional development needs and subsequent offerings.
The Professional Practices Committee (PPC) facilitates the planning for teacher workshops inservice courses, teacher workshops, and the various District related research projects and professional activities designed to improve the education for students in the Greenville Central Schools. The PPC meets once per month.
